An exceptionally busy weekend in Wrocław

The City of Wrocław lists more than 120 events from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 September 2026. Concerts, guided walks, markets, exhibitions and family activities are spread across several districts. On a short visit, choose two or three areas rather than spending the day travelling between distant venues.

The historic centre is the easiest starting point. From Rynek, the main market square, you can walk to the town hall, university, the historic Stare Jatki lane and the Oder riverfront.

Friday: heritage and an evening in the centre

European Heritage Days activities at Stare Jatki begin at noon. Exhibitions, literary meetings and performances then start from late afternoon.

An evening walk devoted to Wrocław’s mysterious stories is listed for 7 pm from Rynek. Participation rules depend on the organiser, so check the price, language and booking requirements before going.

Saturday: antiques and city walks

The antiques market beneath the Iglica, near Centennial Hall, begins at 8 am on Saturday. Combine it with Centennial Hall, the multimedia fountain, Japanese Garden and Szczytnicki Park.

Several guided walks cover the Old Town and Cathedral Island. Other themes include the university, notable women associated with Wrocław and architectural details. Some tours are free or tip-based while others require a ticket; open the individual event listing before attending.

Concerts, theatre and screenings continue into the evening. When staying in the centre, many venues are accessible on foot or by tram from Rynek and Plac Dominikański.

Sunday: sport, families and exploration

The H2O Wrocław Half Marathon is listed for Sunday morning around Międzyrzecka Street. Local disruption may accompany the race. Check current traffic information if travelling to the eastern side of the city that morning.

The municipal calendar also includes Old Town walks, ceramics workshops, neighbourhood markets and children’s activities. Several weekend events are taking place around Centennial Hall.

How to plan your visit

For a first route, start at Rynek, continue towards the university and cross the Oder towards Cathedral Island. Use another half-day for Centennial Hall and Szczytnicki Park. Trams are generally the easiest way to reach that area from the centre.
